I know that all airline tickets are not the same, atleast the way they are priced. In addition, airlines have wierd ways of selling tickets. It would be great if we knew how and when do the airlines act with respect to tickets. This will be helpful to be a bargain price on travels.
Hello Amigo...
Is absolutely true...for a costumer is difficult to understand fares...and airline´s employees too...
An airline founds their fares with sales prognostics and profit analysis (that's why is pretty different buy a ticket comparing season, month, day and hour) these help to fix all fares for an specific flight and route.
It depends but mainly, categories are:
-First
-Business
-Tourist
each one has a sub-categories (so you can be seated next to someone who payed more or less than you, but you both are in the same cabin)...
My advices...
1.The best way to get a good deal is ADVANCE (4 months approx. for international and 1 month approx. for domestic).
Sometimes you can get really good fares with a year of advance, but depends of your plans...
2.Airlines sales are by:
-Web sites (airline and others like travelocity.com)
-Travel agencies
-Aircraft offices
-800 numbers
The weak point is administrative charges, so don't pay more...get your tickets on web sites or 800 numbers(airlines)...
But sometimes is better if you are looking at schedules, so now a better and cheap way is on Internet...
